When you start to scratch the surface, the humble white wine is more complex than it first seems. Controversially, white wine isn’t necessarily only made from white grapes. Every grape’s flesh is white, with the skins being the culprit in dealing colour and tannin. Therefore, creativity in winery can have intriguing results for white wines. While delicate, aromatic and pretty whites serve a valuable purpose, white wines can be made in all shapes and sizes, portraying just as many, if not more, characteristics than their red counterparts.
