Domaine Rolet
Nestled like a hidden gem on the undulating hills of the Jura region, Domaine Rolet emerges as a timeless sanctuary where tradition dances with innovation. Their fossilised limestone soils are a mosaic of terroir, and winemaker Cédric Ducoté knows exactly how to weave a portrait of the land that echoes through each vintage.
Désiré Rolet ventured into winemaking in 1942, producing powerful wines that speak of the region—a tradition passed on from one family to the next. The Domaine now spans 65 hectares sprawling across Côtes du Jura, L'Étoile, Arbois, and Château-Chalon, with each row of vines harbouring local terroir, endless in its potential.
Tradition Meets Innovation
The winery was handed down to Désiré's four children in 1958. Bernard and Giu spent their time amongst the vines and in the cellar, while Pierre and Eliane took care of the practicalities outside of vinification.
After 76 years in the doting Rolet hands, the Rolet siblings passed the Domaine onto the next caretakers in 2018—the Devillard, Flambert, and Dupuis families—each already deeply rooted within the wine industry. Led by Cédric Ducoté, the new Head Winemaker, they continue decades-old traditions, while looking firmly towards the future.
Vines are rooted in Jurassic limestone, marl, and clay soils, rich in fossils, lending a distinctive character to the wines—echoing through each vintage and showcasing the true terroir of the region. Grapes are hand-harvested on slopes that reach 200 to 400 metres elevation, a difficult feat done by determined hands.

Vine by vine, Cédric is slowly converting to organic farming, without the use of herbicides or pesticides, allowing their native grapes to shine in all their Jura-steeped minerality.
Expertly playing the game of patience, these are wines that take time. Vin Jeane, patiently aged for seven years in oak barrels. Aromas of fresh walnuts, prized morel mushrooms and dried apricot are prized from limited bottles for the most fortunate of noses. Their list of powerful wines is long—some oxidised and nutty, others refreshingly fruity with a salty edge. All worthy of a spot on the table and cellar.
As the world continues to be enamoured by the golden wines of the Jura, Domaine Rolet remains a jewel in the crown of Jura vineyards.
