Why we love this Wine

Having blown out a few birthday candles already, this wine is in the prime of its life, now (though will definitely continue to reward cellaring another five-ish years). Savagnin from the Rolet domain in the grape's native Jura, from a South-facing plot along the slopes of the village of Voiteur. Hand-harvested and sorted, directly pressed, then aged sous voile (beneath a layer of naturally occuring yeast in barrel). This has the typical oxidative quality so many of us love in whites from Jura, plus distinctive notes of walnuts, citrus and green apple.
