Kerri Greens
Named after a surf break on the wild southern edge of the Mornington Peninsula, Kerri Greens is the label of Lucas Blanck—and like anyone chasing the perfect wave, he knows timing is everything. Pick too early, pick too late, miss the moment entirely.
Turns out, great surfers and great growers share the same trait: a fixation on conditions. In 2015, Lucas and co-founder Tom McCarthy revived an overlooked old-vine site in Balnarring and bottled their first Kerri Greens Chardonnay. Wines with striking natural acidity, texture and mineral precision followed. We’ve been swept up ever since.
Fixated on conditions
Lucas Blanck grew up at Domaine Paul Blanck—his family’s centuries-old estate in Alsace. But rather than stepping straight into the family business, he became one of Australia’s most respected organic viticulturists, spending years focused on what happens where it matters most: in the vineyard. Healthy soils, balanced vines and naturally high-acid fruit mean very little needs to happen once the grapes hit the winery.
In 2023, Lucas and Alyce took full ownership of the label and doubled down—farming some of the Mornington Peninsula’s best sites and making wines with texture, purity and personality in equal measure. Take the plunge.
