Timorasso was once considered a bit of a pain in the behind. Low-yielding, hard work, not especially fashionable, so it nearly disappeared altogether. Thankfully, in the 1980s–90s, one man decided it was worth saving. Walter Massa replanted it, championed it, and proved its worth. Without him, it would probably still be a footnote. Thanks to that revival, Timorasso now stands as one of Italy’s most compelling white grapes.
