Why we love this Wine
Here we’ve got single vineyard Coal River Valley Pinot from the Pooley crew. As a site, Butcher’s Hill sets up moody wines showing earth, dried herbs and mushroom. A year-ish in French oak (30% new, fancy) polishes those secondaries and adds oomph, highlighting allspice, dark berries, and an umami element. Appropriately weighty, this special Sometimes walks the sweet/savoury line better than Johnny Cash.
