We’ve already explained that Nerello Mascalese is an important Italian grape variety because it is one of the few that rhymes with Patrick Swayze. This is obviously important to us. What is also important to us is ripping wines that make us want to neck a bottle and splash it around with friends. Bingo! A rich core of fruit sheathed in earthy tones, amaro herbs, spice and crushed-volcanic rock goodness. She’s a Sicilian beauty… face Mt. Etna, genuflect then drain thy glass. Umgawa.
