Why we love this Wine
One of the young guns of Beaujolais, Louis-Claude Desvignes plys his trade in the vineyards of the famous cru of Morgon and the stellar Côte-de-Py. This comes from the "Douby" site which is the climat above "Côte de Py" where the soil is less granitic and more decomposed rock with manganese and schist, more akin to the "Corcelette vineyard". A beautiful expression of a Gamay with the classic latent power of Morgon simmering under the surface.
