We love this wine because…
Thistledown are on a mission – to recreate the world class grenache they’ve found in The Rhône and Spain in Australia. Their target? McLaren Vale, specifically the Blewitt Springs sub-region. The result? The Vagabond. A blend of three separate old, dry grown, bush trained vineyards, which was fermented into a concrete pyramid and open fermenters and aged in puncheons and concrete egg. A lot of thought and care has gone into this wine – they’re taking their mission seriously.
