Why we love this Wine
Napoleon slept here. Twice. The walls that give this Elba estate its name have enclosed vines and olive groves above the Gulf of Portoferraio since the late 1500s, and the Bianco is a fair distillation of the island itself — mostly Trebbiano Toscano, rounded out with Vermentino and a splash of Chardonnay, made by Friuli winemakers Fabio and Enrico Coser. Salt air, white peach, crushed stone, a savoury, saline finish that tastes like the sea it grew beside. History in a glass, minus the hat.
