Cortese is the traditional grape variety of the Gavi area (in the heart of Piedmont). Its expressive potential is bonkers, capturing all the minerality and elegance of one of Italy's most prestigious appellations. Showing a pale straw yellow, the nose is refreshingly herbal with subtle smokiness. Then whammy, brightness on the palate with stacks of citrus and lively acid. A little spice on the finish. Sensational stuff.
