Why we love this Wine
Named for François Rousset-Martin's grandmother, this Chardonnay-Savagnin blend comes from two tiny plots in Lavigny, 0.7 hectares of vines pushing 40-plus years old. The Chardonnay stays in tank, kept fresh and untouched by oak; the Savagnin spends three months sous voile, under a veil of yeast, picking up a saline, sourdough edge along the way. Passionfruit and peach pit up front, then salt and tang creeping in underneath. Juicy, incisive, mouth-watering. Another reason to keep tabs on this one.
