If Timo’s Dr Mayer Pinot leans towards the savoury, Close Planted sways sweeter and juicier, with just 20% whole bunch. Picked from Timo Mayer’s lofty Bloody Hill vineyard, the site gets plenty of morning sun, setting up plush red fruit, with both earthiness, bramble and the acidity in place to level up to serious Pinot level. Long, pretty and precise; and, we imagine, precisely what Timo planned it to be.
