Savennieres-based, Thibaud Boudignon is another of the bright young stars who is currently lighting up the Loire Valley with a range of soulful wines. Here its Anjou Blanc; from 38 year old Chenin Blanc vines on schisty soils. Notes of ripe pear on a citrus base with hints of bright, crunchy green apple, almond paste, beeswax, lanolin, struck flint and a crushed-rock minerality that...well...it rocks. Briney, sapid acidity provides the velocity for a wine that bristles with energy and style.
