Mount Gambier is a region that really does it all, its versatile soils packing punch on every end of the wine spectrum. When it comes to 2024's pumped-up Pinot Noir by the renowned Chris Catlow, fruit is smack up front—cranberry, cherry and wild raspberry hitting the nose loudly. Cinnamon and spice meld on the palate, great tension with some brambly depth and darkness. It glides down with grace, finishing slightly saline. From the Coola Road Vineyard, where limestone meets the ocean, this promises to be a dinner table delight (or at least a champion of the cheeseboard).
