Why we love this Wine

Pinot lovers form an orderly line. Tight and bright, this slick Tassie number has the structure and finesse that distinguishes great Pinot Noir from the merely good. Macerated red cherries, purple flowers and mushroomy, earthy dimension. Grown by David and Julie Llewellyn at the Priory Ridge vineyard on Tasmania's north-east coast, this wine is an advert for what the region's granitic soils can offer. After 25 days on skins and 10 months maturation in French oak hogsheads this is wine worth leaving the mainland for.
