Why we love this Wine
Central Otago Pinot with a taste of the mountain air. Mānatu vineyard is a sheltered site encircled by sloping terraces, named for Pyramid Valley’s abundant ribbonwood trees. Loess, deep gravel and lime-rich soils give the wine its signature perfume and shape. Hand-picked parcels are wild fermented, then tucked away in French oak for up to 18 months before bottling unfined and unfiltered. Wild berries, black cherry, plum, savoury spice and that little flick of wild thyme classic to the region. Silky up front, chalky tannins in the back. Fresh, composed, quietly powerful stuff.
