Why we love this interesting drink

Fortified Wine from Portugal, aged to reveal incredibly secondary complexity. Someone suggested a newly-oiled cricket bat, glistening with linseed oil. Now we can’t un-smell that. Underneath it’s all gingerbread and marmalade, grilled nuts, a fresh rain of acid. There is nothing like the raciness of flavour in these wines. Dry and peaty, poise and grace. Must-try stuff.
