Michael Downer’s reputation grows with each new release: concentrated yet pure, balanced cool-climate wines. 85% of The Apollo comes from just opposite Mt Lofty Botanic Gardens with other nearby parcels adding to the layers. This is beautifully perfumed Pinot Noir, wild strawberries and morello cherries, Asian spices and complex meatiness. A new star in the making for sure.
