Why we love this Wine
In Italy, even the skinsy stuff may be labelled Bianco — a loophole this Fiano and Vermentino blend leans right into. Dane and Hannah Johns, the husband-and-wife team behind Momento Mori, farm organically across Gippsland and work with as little intervention as the wines will allow. This one spends its time in terracotta amphora, landing somewhere between white and orange and borrowing the grip of one with the glow of the other. Nectarine, wet stone, a savoury hum underneath. Not quite one thing or the other. Better for it.
