Malvasija from Slovenia. Heading east through Friuli, hugging the Mediterranean, this takes you over the Italian border to Kras. Insanely rocky limestone vineyards tended by brave famers who inspire legions of followers. A few days on skins, time in stainless steel and cask. Distinctively floral with a racy energy, that briny tang is its signature. Intriguing.
