Why we love this Wine
A glass of pure class from a cooler pocket in the Eden Valley. Home to ancient podzolic soils, their low fertility restricts canopy growth, concentrating flavour in the precious berries. This is Pinot Gris made in the image of French Alsace styles, a pale, straw-hued elixir presenting ripe green pears and apple aromas. 20% of the wine sees a malolactic fermentation, and 20% sees new French oak. A whole world of complexity is captured, like yeasty lees character picked up over a period of extended barrel ageing. Finishing soft and dry, this is a good 'un.
