Something with the special sauce: Muscat à Petit Grain from Jauma Farm, aka South Australia's natural wine mecca. James Erskine has turned to Clarendon's grey sands over ironstone, taking dry-grown fruit farmed by legendary Fiona Wood for this bold and beautiful drop. Huge nose, but in a sexy way, a la Adrien Brody. Three weeks on skins releases some serious aromatic compounds, think rose petals and spring jasmine, a little fruit salad funk. Pressed to old French oak, giving a lifted but structurally complex palate. A wine for many seasons.
