From Baskerville in the Swan Valley we get a true treat; dry grown, organically managed Chenin Blanc, of a vintage with fewer heat waves than previous years. With fruit hanging longer on the vine, building its natural acidity, the concentration of flavour is intense. Juice extraction was low after gently basket pressing whole bunches, ie. Slim Pickings. But if yields were down, after a wild ferment and 9mo on lees, flavour is up. This is both characterful and clean, delicious stuff to drink at any hour, especially aperitivo.
