Why we love this Wine
Who's Henry? He planted the first vineyard of seven acres at Keyneton in 1853, going on to establish a remarkable rep for making outstanding wines in the southern colony. Shiraz, Grenache, Mataro and Viognier see the inside of concrete, open-top fermenters. After the blending in of the separate parcels of Grenache and Mataro, the wine spends 10 months in French oak hogsheads, of which 10% new. Henry'd no doubt love the outcome: a bold red with a dark bouquet. Berry compote and rhubarb, a peppery mid-palate, finely grained tannins. Barossa at its best.
