Why we love this Wine

Bertholdi is the boss. The most limited, mature, and authoritative red in the Gut Oggau wine family and a powerful testament to black-skinned, peppery Blaufrankisch. Grown from slate and limestone, whole clusters from the 60+ year old vines are fermented as clusters on skins before a number of years in barrel. Unfined and unfiltered, it’s old meets new - or just a return to basics, depending on where you’re sitting.
