Why we love this Wine
Unique Jurassic Chardonnay (from Jura, not the park). Gravières comes from a small parcel (just 0.3ha) of old vines in the tiny village of Lavigny. Barrel raised and aged for 15mo on fine lees, this is a non-oxidative Chardonnay with citrus peel, ripe stone fruit, and brioche. Rich but reined in, with bright acid and fine texture. Labelled as Côtes du Jura, François Rousset-Martin continues to break regional rules, using methods once unthinkable in his hallowed appellation. He's sure no dinosaur.
