Cuvée 909 nods to Jura’s monastic history, 909 being the year when a group of monks from Jura left the Baume-les-Messieurs Abbey to establish the Cluny Abbey. In the hands of Jura's resident rulebreaker François Rousset-Martin, Pinot is anything but cloistered. It’s lively, lifted and a little wild—cranberry, red licorice, watermelon skin and spice, with a foresty, savoury base. Smooth but zippy, juicy but grounded, with a bitey bitter edge. Monastic fantastic.
