Why we love this Wine
The name gives it away — Noirs de Montagne, the black grapes of the Montagne de Reims, and that's exactly what's in the glass: 60% Pinot Meunier, 30% Pinot Noir, and just a touch of Chardonnay for lift. Premier Cru fruit off Chigny-les-Roses, Ludes and Rilly-la-Montagne. Three years on lees, another four months resting post-disgorgement, dosed lean at 6g of the sweet stuff. Crushed strawberry, cherry, raspberry, a dab of marzipan underneath. Generous, red-fruited, still properly structured. Plush yet bitey.
