Why we love this Wine
Beaujolais Nouveau from the Saint Joseph Vineyard, where the Gamay Noir vines average about 60 years old. Pink granite soils impart depth and concentration to this otherwise crisp and light style, vinified without addition of sulphur. Sweetness and fruitiness are delivered in an energetic little package that drinks elegantly, and has surprising length. Certified organic just last year, family-owned Domaine de la Grosse is in third generation hands. Winemaker Pauline Passot now helms, known to us from her photograph on the winery's website: she pours while wearing t-shirt emblazoned "I love Beaujolais". We love hers.
