Why we love this Wine
Beaujolais Villages gets written off by people who've never had a good one. This is a good one. The Depardons have farmed these pink granite and schist slopes since 1848 β Olivier took over in '85 and grew the estate from four hectares to twenty-six, with son Alexis now running vineyard and cellar and daughter Caroline running the business end. Fruit from old vines below Morgon, destemmed, no whole bunch, vinified Burgundian style. Blackcurrant, strawberry, a tug of spice, fine tannin. Proper Gamay.
