Why we love this Wine
The very spirit of the Côte Chalonnaise (subregion of Burgundy) comes alive in these bottles from Domaine Bertrand. The 2022 blends plots from the villages of Saint-Martin-de-Montaigu, Saint-Jean-de-Vaux, and Barizey. Gleaming and translucent, but intense in colour. There's a lot of sweetness on the nose; of blackcurrant juice and dark honey. But the palate is all balance, with developed tannin, lingering texture and generous mouthfeel. Fresh but substantial. Outstanding bang for buck, aged in 30% new oak.
