Why we love this Wine
Furmint, the white grape grown widely in Hungary and Slovakia, is more or less synonymous with the Tokaji region. The variety is distinctive, commonly vinified as a dry white with exuberant aroma. Here, the nose gives airy wafts of white flowers and grapefruit. Texture and white fruits on the palate, lychee and pear. A mineral, briny white, barrel fermented in Hungarian oak (10% new). Comparisons to Chablis are warranted here, same purity and precision. Very yum.
