Why we love this Wine
Amid the sea of excellent Burgundian wines, it's hard to stand out. This Mercurey Rouge does exactly that; primo Pinot Noir sourced from the prestigious Premier Cru Sazenay vineyard in Mercurey. The clay and limestone soils deliver, as they so often do. Gleaming ruby red, vibrant raspberries and black cherries are pronounced. Robust roundness on the palate and lots of lovely texture. A little salt, a little liquorice spice, a whole lot to love. Aged in Burgundian barrels, emerging actualised and alive. Bravo.
