Why we love this Wine
OMNIA NOVA* (All Become New). The Chaffey Bros tangle with the Barossa's most iconic grape, old vine Shiraz handled with care. Harvested at modest ripeness, 15% whole bunches went into the mix for a wild ferment. A perfunctory 8 month elevage in 500 litre French oak puncheons and hogsheads. This is not the gigantic bomb of tannin and richness that the Barossa Valley of yore was almost exclusively known for. This is an energetic, delicately structured Shiraz with a certain crunchy, bunchy-ness that all seems effortless. Ripe blueberries and luscious red fruits, with a dash of something cranberry. Terrific.
