Why we love this Wine

Yes, yes, one-thousand-times-yes. Pear aroma and preserved lemon with an energetic pep on the palate. Softly saline, rich but youthful, this is purest Picpoul in its personality, and an absolute star-crossed pairing for calamari fritti, oysters and off-the-clock afternoons. This has more oomph and body than some of the leanest, cleanest, meanest Picpouls out there, but the lick of slicing acid keeps it beautifully tense and nervy. Benjamin Darnault is a consultant oenologist for wine houses right across the south of France, and this bottle speaks more loudly to his talent than any credential. Magnifique.
