Why we love this Wine
The Limestone Coast have given us some Chardonnays for the ages, and few do it as well as Balnaves of Coonawarra. The fruit was hand picked in late February at 12.5 Baumé, whole bunch pressed and barrel fermented. Matured on lees in 25% new oak for 11 months. Though very cellarable, this is drinking stunningly in its young and fresh state right now. Already packing great complexity; think jasmine, lemon pith and almond nougat.
