100% Gamay Noir, a deep, intense garnet with bold red fruits and plenty of smoke. Matured 12 months in barrel, this is tight on the palate with pleasing round fruit. Born of granitic soils and a continental climate, Jeff Carrel's expansion of the Dans l'Air du Temps family continues to prove that Vin de France can be exceptional, free of the strictures of DOC. From vines 15+ years old, a light chill optionally recommended.

Beaming, blushing happy juice coming right up. Pretty in the glass but with a very serious palate to present, this is SA grown Brachetto (natively of Piedmont) styled as Rosato at its most special; with fresh acid and aromatic red fruits. Wild fermented, fully destemmed and basket pressed to stainless steel before a 7mo elevage in old oak puncheons. If you're after lo-fi refreshment by way of Uraidla in the Adelaide Hills, you won't find many better than this. Electric energy and a whole lot of pep.

Alpha Box & Dice's X range sees head winemaker Sam Berketa play with some plum parcels of quirkier fruit across SA, this time taking Pecorino from the Paracombe Vineyards of the Adelaide Hills. Fully destemmed then pressed (the free-run to stainless and the pressings to amphora), this has been fermented until dry before a 3 month maturation in amphorae and barrel. We're assuming X is for extra because this tastes like an orchard explosion, intensely flavourful and rich with some lovely weight on the palate. Golden juice for golden times.
