MILLTON - LIBIAMO MUSCAT BLANC À PETITS GRAINS 2019
“Wine from around the globe is at our fingertips, more accessible than any time in the history of the world. Seeking the wines less travelled has always been a mantra of mine.”
FABIEN JOUVES MAS DEL PÉRIÉ - YOU FUCK MY WINE?! 2020
“You Fuck My Wine is a story about a Winemaker, an unfortunate law change and a willingness to adapt despite of it. Resulting in a food-friendly and impeccably delicious red blend from Southwest France with a catchy moniker.”
SCINTILLA ‘ELEKTRIK’ CHARDONNAY / SAVAGNIN 2020
“Dennis Roman first showed me this wine earlier this year and I was blown away. Barossa is as classic as they come in Australia and it’s easy to feel like you know what to expect from a bottle. From the first smell and sip this grenache exhibits a buoyancy and liveliness that goes from start to finish. Estate grown, organic and biodynamic, this is fun and thought-provoking winemaking.”
ZORAH - KARASI ARENI NOIR 2018
“I believe even in wine if you don’t know where you came from, you know where you’re going. Forget about what you deem as classic for a moment and let’s go on a journey to the Caucasus, the birthplace of viticulture. Areni Noir is Armenia’s most treasured grape variety, one of the oldest varieties in the world and a piece of history waiting for you to discover.”
MILLTON - LIBIAMO MUSCAT BLANC À PETITS GRAINS 2019
“The Libiamo ‘Amphora’ Muscat à Petits Grains is an unconventional look at Gisborne, the first wine region in the world to feel the warmth of the sun each day. I love the heady, exotic stone fruit aromas that Muscat exudes accompanied by Amphora ageing and a dry finish.”
ALHEIT - CARTOLOGY CHENIN BLANC / SEMILLON 2019
“Cartology is an ode to extraordinary old vine parcels of mainly Chenin Blanc and Sémillon bush vines planted in the Cape. I recently presented this wine in a blind tasting alongside an American Chenin Blanc and a French counterpart. Cartology was the most beloved of the trio”
ANSGAR CLÜSSERATH - TRITTENHEIMER KABINETT RIESLING 2018
“Brilliant winemaker Eva Clüsserath crafts the Ansgar Clüsserath Trittenheimer Kabinett Riesling. The winery’s homepage greets you with a comforting expression, “Mosel. Slate. Riesling”. I consider this as a rediscovery of a classic region, uncomplicated but uncompromised.”
