Praeter is what happens when obsession and curiosity meet instinct. After a vintage in Barolo, winemaker Matt Large returned home with Nebbiolo on the brain—and dirt under his nails. What started as a way to understand that grape in Australian soil has grown into something broader: a cross-hemisphere pursuit of place, time and boundary pushing. Now working with choice parcels from both Italy and Australia, Matt brings a gentle hand and a sharp eye to every bottle. Not much made. None of it ordinary.
