Les Pieds Rôtis, "roasted feet" — the kind of name you only get from a plot that bakes all day, limestone and gravel soaking up sun on Chinon's right bank. Wilfrid Rousse farms organically here, 19 hectares mostly given over to Cabernet Franc, with this tiny parcel of Chenin Blanc the outlier. Native yeasts, steel tank, no sulphites added. Floral lift, pomelo, something exotic, the palate vibrant and sapid with real grip on the finish. Grab a bottle and put your feet up.
