Why we love this Wine
We don't give too much weight to industry awards and schmancy wine scores (except when we do). But Vat 9 is the kind of Shiraz that warrants them, and has them by the bucketload. Accolades aside, it's a velvety, sumptuous crowd-pleaser, living up to its hype as a hero red of the Hunter Valley region. Earthy, deep and stunningly detailed. Think stewed rhubarb, bittersweet chocolate, dark berries and sage. Actually, don't think, just get it open and get some air in there. Sensational stuff.
