Why we love this Wine

We stopped counting around vat 10, but we're tuning right back in now. Murray Tyrrell planted Chardonnay in the Short Flat vineyard back in 1968, and as long-games go, hard to beat. The 2022 is another instant classic vintage for the Vat 47. Top notes are bright citrus and soft stonefruit, followed up with rich, creamy texture. Oaky spice peeks through on the back palate. This is Chardonnay that drinks like an advert for the Hunter Valley; pure as the driven snow, but with more time spent on lees.
