Why we love this Wine
The scene— Sannio, Campania, Southern Italy. A warm breeze blows down the Guardiesi hillside, and it's Aglianico o'clock. Following an October harvest, the grapes are crushed, destemmed and fermented under temperature control using stainless steel vats. This wine is special because of the care taken to extract both pigment and more noble compounds from the potent skins of Aglianico, rewarding the winemaker (and the drinker!) with potent flavour concentration and vivid colour in the glass. A pearler and a swirler.
