Pineau d’Aunis, yes please. From the Loire Valley, it’s a must. One of the more distinctive, indigenous varieties, when farmed and fermented well it’s other worldly. Like here, with the textbook style on show. Sweet-tart cherries, cracked pepper and punchy acidity. Finesse and elegance. Certified organic and biodynamic too.
