Named, so the story goes, for Pupo's American wife—proof that love for Italy travels further than most. Nicola Nardone farms old vines around Venticano, on the volcanic slopes of Avellino, the natural way: no sprays, no additions, fermentation left entirely to whatever yeast turns up. Extended skin contact gives this orange wine its grip and colour, then it settles down before bottling, barely any sulphur in sight. Dried apricot, wild honey, a crack of white pepper, chalky mineral nip in at the end. Funky, textural, unmistakably Campanian.
