Why we love this Wine
A collision of two great sites in Central Otago: Lowburn, cool and restrained, Bendigo, a little warmer and a lot lush-er. All fruit hand harvested, prioritising best of the best berries so that the approach in the winery could be very hands-off. A gentle press, a wild ferment, large-format, barely-there old oak. And bam, belter Pinot Gris, all jasmine aroma and poached quinces. Rich and ready, with hints of gingery spice that result from a small portion seeing time on skins. Such a standout from the South Island.
