Why we love this Wine
The first grenache from Palmetto – and the first taste in the label's small batch premium range – comes from the Hermann Kalimna Vineyard in Barossa Valley, from bush-like vines that are over fifty years old. In order to put the fruit first and foremost, 90% was fermented whole bunch in an open fermenter, with plunging to wet the cap, before being matured in foudre and puncheon for 14 months. Expect earthy spice, cured meats, bright acidity, berries and purple flavoured lollies. Don't hold on to it for too long – it's best enjoyed from now until 2025.
