Meursault's got a reputation for going big and buttery — Les Meix Chavaux plays it leaner, sharper, still unmistakably Meursault.
Lucien Muzard farms this parcel properly — vines dating back to 1935 on limestone-clay dirt, single Guyot pruned, de-budded and de-leafed by hand to get the fruit used to the sun.
Indigenous yeast does the fermenting, malolactic runs through winter in the underground cellar, and it all rests in small 350-litre barrels. Mid lemon in the glass, orchard fruit held taut by clean acidity, a floral edge running into citrus on a finish that keeps talking long after you've swallowed.
