Why we love this Wine
Ninth generation on the same Santenay ground since 1645, brothers Claude and Hervé Muzard run the estate now, pulling fruit from village and Hautes-Côtes plots around Maranges and Santenay rather than leaving it to a négociant.
Hand-picked in small crates, sorted, mostly de-stemmed with a bit of whole cluster worked in for lift, fermented on native yeast in wooden tanks, then split between old barrel and tank with just a whisper of new oak to keep it honest. Cherry, red currant, a faint spice, mineral underneath. Light on its feet, serious in its bones.
